It was not visible on his facial features, that he thought the exact same thing Nao did. While he figured himself as a good player, it might be valuable to have some outside perspective - one that Rin did not have on himself for a while now.
And yet it was unsure if he would actually ever ask her to accompany him for training. It felt like a blockade, to actually consider making her watch him, which was why he gladly remembered their game against Karasuno in his second year of high school - the one she watched, when she was still playing.
Yes, he knew. He was perceptive enough to have noticed her and back then their contact was not as lost as it was now. Despite what many might think of him, he actually enjoyed having someone on the ranks to look up to, but the only other people important enough for him had always played in his own team; so he never had someone to watch, while Nao was still in their home area.
“ My professor would most likely question my sanity. “ It was a gentle jab on behalf of the twins and he knew they wouldn’t take it too seriously even if they knew. “ And I would question mine if I proofed my apartment against Atsumu “ he deadpanned just a moment after.
Once her eyes locked onto him, Suna noticed and subtly he turned his head towards her a bit. Even the way she was sitting had not changed - they both did not seem like the people to normally sit in some kind of chair. If he thought hard enough about it, he’d probably remember some childhood moment where one of their parents had complained about exactly that.
Actually, he had to think for a moment. As far as he remembered, he did not even drink anything since he started his journey this morning, except the few sips of tea he made for them. “ No. “ He answered simply, yet truthfully. Still, he could not completely hide the irritated look on his face once she mentioned what was probably his ultimate safe food. It was strange to know someone so good - and yet to feel as if so many things changed.
Her implication seemed smart, though, which was why he recalled looking into the fridge earlier - only to remember that it was completely empty. “ Cooking might be hard, as everything here is empty except some tea and water. “ Which was no wonder, given that the last tenants moved out at least two weeks ago.
A thoughtful hum escaped his throat, while greygreen-ish eyes snapped towards the window. “ Could order, find a place outside or go get groceries. “ As far as he had looked, there were a few small but traditional restaurants nearby, as well as a decent store. Given the fact that Rintarou only had training later this evening - which he was not sure yet how to pitch to her, if even - he was quite open towards all of those options.

Some things didn’t change. Or at least for the moment it felt like it. A strange sensation of satisfaction washed through her, because at the very least she still knew that habit of his. Or maybe - the little voice in her head said - she just guessed right based on assumptions. Nao decided that for now, that voice could screw itself and she’d just focus on the things ahead.
She hummed in agreement. While she was sure they could find some weird cooking videos online that only used tea and water, she wasn’t really keen on that. “Hmm…” The blonde tapped her lower lip in thought.
“I vote for going somewhere to eat. I’m sure with the location of our apartment, we can find some pretty nice places.” For a second she thought, she almost stumbled over the word ‘our’ but thankfully she didn’t. There was, however, a small little smile that spread across her face.
The last time she considered something theirs it was back home. A little hideout, they had claimed on an barely used and borderline abandoned playground. The wood of the slide hut was barely giving any protection against the weather, but still they found themselves there whenever they needed a place to be just themselves. No grown ups, no expectations, just spending time together. Really just simpler times, Nao didn’t feel she appreciated enough at the time.
“Maybe we can even go grocery shopping afterwards, to be prepared for the next couple of days as well?” While she got supported by her parents quite well, she still couldn’t justify going out eating every day. Buying groceries was inevitable so why not kill two birds with one stone.
That and she got to spend a little more time with Rin, before she would have to outpack at least the essentials.“I don’t know about you, but I could really go for katsu curry after today. But I’m open to anything really.” Nao was by no means a picky eater, she would eat anything but some very few selected items, but katsu curry was by far her most favourite.

Decisions were not quite his biggest strength. He usually did not have much to decide, as his days had been quite similar for all of high school and in all honesty, it was definitely a change to structure his days fully by himself. Well, not fully by himself now, given the blonde haired sitting somewhat cross-legged across from him.
Who just now pitched some ideas into the silent space between them and he nodded. Attentive eyes following the movement of her finger over her lips and dragging them elsewhere seemed way too much of a challenge, which was why he settled on just looking at his hands instead; the long sleeves of his black sweater halfway covering his hands.
He had delicate hands. Especially for the fact that they often enough found forceful impact from volleyball and yet he only had some rough patches on the upper parts of his palm. Suna did not quite remember who told him to take care of his hands, as they were his most valuable tool. He was just sure it had not been Nao - because he still did remember everything important she ever told him.
Legs slid off the sofa's edge, as he stood again, hands finding their way into the pockets. “ Good idea, “ he answered truthfully, his fingers searching for the set of keys in his left pocket. “ All of it, actually. Did not have katsu in a long time. “ An asking nod towards the door, if she was ready to leave, before he stepped out in the hallway first, locking their door behind them. “ Let’s hope my sense of orientation does not fail me here. “ Soft smile, as he looked down at her, only subtly, as their difference was not that big. It had something familiar. Just two friends, going out to eat.
As it always should have been.
